Our Design Philosophy
Our design practice is deeply rooted in the connection between architecture, landscape, and lifestyle — a holistic approach that grounds each project in its place and purpose. We consider the full context of each project — natural, urban, and human; crafting each home as a unique response to its site, its surroundings, and the lives that unfold within it.
From broad site strategy to the smallest material detail, we design with the belief that architecture should resonate with its environment and enhance everyday experience.
Who we are
Sucheta Nadig, OAQ, AIA
Co-Founder & Principal
I’m a licensed architect in Quebec, New York, and Vermont, with over a decade of experience in thoughtful, context-driven design. I earned my Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University, where my work was recognized with multiple awards, helping me set the foundation for a career defined by curiosity, rigor and a commitment to design excellence.
I’ve worked on a wide range of projects, from bespoke single-family homes to schools, offices, and multi-family buildings. My time at Morris Adjmi Architects in New York and Skylab Architecture in Portland gave me invaluable experience collaborating on projects that bridge culture, material, and place.
My specialty is winter-climate architecture — I have a wide depth of experience designing ski chalets and mountain homes — where architecture must work in harmony with the challenges of unyielding landscapes and seasons. I approach each project with care to create spaces that feel grounded, enduring, and connected to their environment.
Guillaume Lapointe
Co-Founder & Principal
I’m an architect with more than ten years of experience focused on highly customized, design-forward single-family homes. I completed my Master of Architecture degree with honors at McGill University, where I developed a deep appreciation for the intersection of precision, materiality, and lived experience in design.
My background also includes extensive work with residential building codes, municipal zoning laws, and permitting processes, which allows me to guide projects smoothly from the first sketch through construction. Before co-founding Atelier SuGi, I was design and project lead on several award-winning residential projects at Jacobschang Architecture in New York.
My work embraces a warm modern aesthetic — deeply contextual, informed by natural materials, light, and landscape. I strive to create architecture that feels inviting and timeless, grounded in craftsmanship and a genuine respect for place.
